White-hooded Ku Klux Klansmen waving Confederate flags recently marched in Jasper, TX, the town where three White men allegedly dragged a Black man to his death behind a pickup truck (JET, June 29).

Black counter-demonstrators carrying guns showed up and police kept the two sides apart, making one arrest as the Klan rally ended.

Klan leader Rick Anderson said: "Jasper is part of the invisible empire. Make no mistake about it, this is Klan country."
