Benjamin Quarles was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and died at the age of 92 on Nov 16, 1996. Quarles was an exceptional person and historian who taught "The Negro in United States History" at Morgan State College. His lecture on African-American history was enjoyed by all students who took his course.
