ST. PAUL, Minn. _ Joyce Levitan tapped a green pen on the table to get the attention of the students who sat in what is marked as the kindergarten classroom at Beth Jacob Congregation in Mendota Heights. On this night, it was filled with adults eager to learn Hebrew.

``OK, enough fun,'' Levitan announced. ``In your packet you have the song we sing at the end of every Sabbath. By the time you leave, you will all be able to translate it. Here's a word everyone knows for sure, Baruch. What does that mean?''
