When IIE convened at Banff for the annual conference last May, the date was almost 100 years to the day since Frederick Winslow Taylor joined the Bethlehem Steel Co. In his four years at Bethlehem, Taylor would put a fine finish on what, a decade later, came to be known as scientific management.
