David P. Baker and Cornelius Riordan are mistaken in predicting the demise of Catholic schools as a religious institution. They base their claim on only one study which indicates the increasing number of rich students. Moreover, this situation can be remedied.

The Baker and Riordan article is a house of cards built on a distortion of the past and a single new finding that the social class composition of Catholic schools has changed, Father Greeley retorts. And the "eliting" of Catholic schools is a soluble problem.
