Hugo Grotius' concepts on international law and ethics are becoming popular due to a renewed interest in both topics. Grotius tried to establish a theoretical position between amoral realism and idealism. He developed a system wherein the flexibility of human law was integrated with the moral authority of natural law. Most importantly, he created a code of international behavior that allows injustice, when needed, without alienating moral ideals.
