Pres Bill Clinton recognizes the importance of celebrating the 28th annual Earth Day in Harpers Ferry, VA, because the Appalachian Trail Park is an important reminder of the relationship of man with nature. He points out that the Appalachian Trail was conceived by a teenager who thought of connecting the mountains from New England to Georgia with a hiking trail. He also stresses the importance of volunteers who have helped in the efforts to preserve the environment.
Thank you very much. Thank you for the welcome. I want to especially welcome all the young children and not-so-young children ...
