Maxwell Anderson took the helm of the Indianapolis Museum of Art in 2006, just as it was embarking on a series of green initiatives. A.i.A. spoke with the Prius-driving Anderson--arguably the AI Gore of museum directors--about the special challenges museums face in reducing their carbon footprints, and how nothing, from apples to urinals, escapes scrutiny at the IMA, whose land spreads far and wide.
