United States : Georgetown gets $3.5 million stimulus grant for wastewater plant.

A long-delayed project to build a new wastewater treatment plant in Georgetown got a boost Wednesday with the announcement that the town has been awarded a $3.5 million federal stimulus grant.

The grant through the Indiana State Revolving Fund means the project, originally contracted for construction in 2006, should get under way in the next couple of months, Georgetown officials said.

It also means that Georgetown residents, who had been facing a big jump in sewer bills, will instead see a small decrease, officials said.
