Pres Bill Clinton acknowledges the role played by the US Marine Corps Band in the country's history. Also known as 'The President's Own,' the Marine Corps Band was established on Jul 11, 1798 by Pres John Adams. They played for countless heads of states, including kings, queens, presidents and prime ministers. A notable figure who became a part of the band was John Philip Sousa who joined the it as an apprentice musician when he was 13 years old.
