The klezmer union in the US can be attributed to the efforts of immigrant Jewish musicians or klezmorim to integrate klezmer music in the country's musical mainstream. Although only a few accounts can be utilized as basis for such an assumption, several significant events in the klezmorim community during the period of the 1880's and the 1890's have been recorded. These activities might have spurred the development of klezmer music in the US.
