Reconstructing the past: a structural idealist approach.

Historiography is more accurately represented by a reconstruction rather than a re-enactment thesis. This thesis is based on the pretext that all history is of action and thought and that these two factors must be reconstructed by historians. The reconstruction process incorporates social sciences and psychoanalysis, and therefore offers a more complete analysis than mere re-enactment.
