THE NUMBER of young adults seeking treatment for cocaine addiction in the UK has almost doubled in three years.
The National Treatment Agency said it faced a 'significant challenge' in dealing with the surge of young cocaine addicts, with more than 5,000 under-30s seeking help last year, up from 2,700 in 2005/6. This drove a leap of two thirds in those across all age groups seeking help for cocaine addiction, from 5,095 new cases to 8,491.
