Michigan's back, and it means business

CAPE TOWN, South Africa - A decade after Michigan legislators required state pension funds to divest their South African holdings, the state is now one of the first to reinvest in the new South Africa.

There are Chrysler Jeep Cherokees on the roads, Kellogg's corn-flakes on grocery shelves, Herman Miller furniture in downtown office buildings and Domino's Pizza Inc.'s familiar domino on neon signs. Michiganders used to icy winters are basking in balmier weather and learning a few words of Zulu or Xhosa.
