Barnard Castle in Durham County, England, specialized in carpet weaving during the early 19th century. The carpets, the making of which became a source of livelihood after the Napoleonic Wars, are on display at the Bowes Museum.

Barnard Castle is a small, picturesque market town in Teesdale, County Durham, in the north of England. It is now a tourist destination and is known for the Bowes Museum.
