During the first six months of its existence the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, has mounted a number of exhibitions to highlight its less well-known holdings. One of the most welcome of these is a show drawn from the museum's collection of more than two thousand daguerreotypes, which has been formed since 1984. The exhibition is entitled The Art of the Daguerreotype, and remains on view until July 12.
