The pool above the Villa San Michele
is shaped like Oklahoma; at noon a silver olive
shades the deep end. One acqua minerale,
prosciutto panini prepared without much love
and two blood OJ's on a sweating platter comes
to sixty thousand. Below us, Florence; above,
the cypresses and lecci of Olmo. Here the limbs
and waists and faces of honeymooning women
gleam ...
