The Pakistan Tobacco Board kept a close vigil over the tobacco marketing operations through visits of its Senior Officers on daily basis and Governor's Inspection Teams in NWFP and also receipt of information of tobacco purchases/prices from the tobacco companies on daily basis so as to safeguard the interest of all the cognate groups i.e. tobacco growers, tobacco dealers and tobacco companies. It is heartening to note that to-date weighted average prices and paid are well above those of the corresponding period of last years.
