The process for a peace accord between Arab countries and Israel that is unfolding in Oslo, Norway, will likely produce conditions that will result in a new peace process over a period of time. This new process will lead to a resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict in ways that will not be planned for in Oslo. The history and background of the Arab-Israeli conflict as well as the ongoing Arab-Israeli peace process unfolding in Oslo are evaluated.
