Carole Maso's "Aureole" is compared to the reckless, raw abandonment of rock music in bravado and self-exposure. The story encompasses the a search for a new language for desire. And Maso's attempt at erotic writing incorporates syntax, style and form and thus her search for a new language is completed within her work.
