World crude oil production in Sep 1997 increased by 0.4 million barrels per day from Sep 1996 figures for a total of 67 million barrels per day. Production of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) for the same period was pegged at 29 million barrels per day while non-OPEC nations advanced by more than 100 thousand barrels per day. Moreover, countries with nuclear capacity produced nearly 200 gross terawatthours of nuclear-generated electricity in Sep 1997.
