Church and Dwight Co offers the Armex system for cleaning metalworking machine parts. The system uses baking soda as a grit blast medium which can eliminate dirt and other soils from workpieces. Baking soda, compared to other solid mediums, is easy to remove from workpieces since its crystals collapse on contact and are water soluble. The softness of baking soda also make it ideal for cleaning delicate substrates such as aluminum.
