Machine parts manufacturer General Tool Co adopted the Surfcam CAM software to eliminate problems resulting from attempts to import customer supplied CAD data in the Initial Graphics Exchange Specification (IGES) format into its existing CAM system. The new software provides several advantages including flavored IGES translation, five-axis programming capacity and an interface for complex surface manipulation.
