It's springtime and there's a buzz in the air -- the buzz of bees, wasps, and mosquitoes. Along with the buzz often comes a painful sting or itch-producing bite.
According to the Lanacane Itch Information Center, White Plains. N.Y., when a bee or wasp stings, it injects a venomous fluid under the skin. "Only honey bees leave the actual stinger in the skin, and it is attached to a venom sac," says toxicologist Stephen Pennisi.
