NORFOLK - Francis Asbury Slaughter, 87, of the 100 block of Evans St., passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at a local hospital.
Born in Willis, Va., Francis was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from Western Electric. He was a member of Tabernacle Church of Norfolk and the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Francis was predeceased by his wife, Mavis P. Slaughter, and is survived by two nephews, William O. Slaughter Jr. and wife Lurea of Winston-Salem, N.C., and John A. Slaughter and ...
