Buddhism regards pluralism as the nature of reality, which is beyond human perception. American pluralism is grounded in science as the ultimate source of truth. Religious fundamentalist attitudes include claims to being the only means to learn truth, but this leads to exclusionist policies. Most religions still practice exclusionism, but Buddhism regards this principle as causing human suffering.
