Any good grower will tell you that an important aspect of growing mushrooms is making careful crop observations during the daily walk-through of the houses. Observing spawn growth, pin set and mushroom quality are very important, but it's also important to monitor your houses for pests and disease from the onset of spawn run. Chemicals are available to reduce the numbers of many pathogens and pests once they are present in a crop. It's often too late to make a major impact to that room once certain problems arise.
