People are at risk of losing their conceptions of evidence, objectivity, truth and inquiry. The phenomenon of 'preposterism' plays a key role in encouraging envy and resentment of the sciences and disregard for genuine inquiry. Preposterism, which is fueling irrationalism and a loss of confidence in honest inquiry, has provided opportunities for the spread of the sham and the fake.
