Scientists discuss in 'The ability of oestradiol administration to regulate protein levels of oestrogen receptor alpha in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex of middle-aged rats is altered following long-term ovarian hormone deprivation' new findings in hormones. "Beneficial effects of oestrogen administration on cognition are attenuated if treatment is initiated following long-term ovarian hormone deprivation.
