New 2,000-hp towboat for Golding Barge Line.(ON THE WAYS)

Bayou La Batre, Ala.-based D.E.S. Boat Works LLC recently delivered the 86'x32'xl0'6" towboat Lamar Golding to Golding Barge Line, Vicksburg, Miss.

CT Marine, Edgecomb, Maine, designed the hull and propulsion system, and Sterling Marine, Gulf Breeze, Fla., handled the cabin and construction drawings for the four-deck vessel. The framing of the towboat is on 18"-centers using nested plate frames and flange plates instead of angles and brackets.
