Longtime city of Eugene employee John Loomis wasn't thrilled a few months ago when he heard that he might not get a cost-of-living raise for a year starting in July.
But the lead stagehand at the Hult Center for Performing Arts sees empty seats - evidence of the recession - every time he goes to work.
