Hong Kong's traditions have been manipulated, reinterpreted, and negotiated by different parties illustrating a clear case of a poeticized identity. Culture, tradition, and identity are all subjective. The uniqueness of the Hong Kong case illustrates that this territory has gone through a shift of culture that has been caused by modernization, colonial mentality, and the reinterpretation of their traditions.
