TUGUEGARAO City, Cagayan, June 18 (PNA) --- Some 123 giant clams were seeded in the demo site area at Punta Verde, Palaui Island, Sta. Ana, Cagayan as a technique of reef rehabilitation and restoration by the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA), Department of Tourism (DOT) and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
DOT Regional Dir. Blessida Diwa said DOT has provided 500,000 pesos as seed fund for the giant clam-seeding project in the area that aims to rehabilitate and restore the reefs and to attract tourists to visit the promising island.
