FRANKFURT, GERMANY - The Wait Disney Co. has canceled the free TV-output deal that it signed in 1995 with Luxembourg-based CLT, through which it was providing programming to all RTL stations belonging to the European TV group.
Disney is seeking an additional nine-digit fee in deutsche marks - meaning that the fee will be at least DM100 million ($70 million), or much higher - in compensation for the merger between CLT and Bertelsmann AG's TV unit, Ufa, this past January.
CLT-Ufa confirmed last week that it has begun legal action to maintain the supply of films ...
