Penelope Jo's pet bear Griswell had the worst breath in the universe. He had big, yellow teeth to match. But he was afraid to go to the dentist.

"There's nothing to be afraid of," Penelope Jo said. But Griswell ran down the hallway, into the kitchen, and straight through the screen door.

"Griswell! Come back! " Penelope Jo called, hurrying after him. She burst through the broken screen door with her curls flying.

She carefully scanned the backyard. There was no sign of Griswell.

She looked in the trash can. She looked in the compost ...
