France's ATV company manufactures powerful modern age wind turbines such as the world's biggest unit erected in Emden, Germany. French and German technology combined to produce quality blades each measuring 6.5 ft wide at the base, 105 ft. long and weighing three metric tons. The carbon fiber material used to build the structure contributes to its strength and lightness. Power being generated is 1,500 kWs. The blades are made at the Douai factory in northern France.
