A special 10th anniversary tribute was held in the Chicago City Hall to remember Harold Washington who died in office in 1987. The ceremony was attended by Mayor Richard M. Daley, Ramon Price (Washington's brother), Lerone Bennett, Gwendolyn Brooks and other politicians, journalists and citizens.
