The $52.7 million Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) project conducted by ICON Industrial Controls Corp will be concluded by Oct 1997. MOS can lead to an 'open architecture' operating system which can be utilized by software companies to write application-specific control software. The project is also aimed at establishing a national testing and certification center to ensure viability of the MOS and to create a network of technology users.
