US Agricultural Research Service scientists have been examining the use of gypsum and polyacrylamide (PAM) to slow down soil erosion. Soil scientists L. Darrell Norton and W. Doral Kemper claim that gypsum can be used throughout the country to stimulate plant growth and improve water infiltration.
