If I had been asked five years ago to guess what grows well in British Columbia, I would have said bears.
Little did I know that, even then, British Columbia was on the cusp of becoming famous as one of North America's most exciting new wine regions. There are, in fact, about 40 wineries in the region today, and some of the wines show such promise that heads are beginning to turn.
