The Royal and Pontifical University of Santo Tomas and the Catholic University of the Philippines are the official designations of the University of Santo Tomas (UST). It is the oldest existing university in Asia and the largest Catholic university in the world located in one campus.UST was founded on April 28, 1611, by Msgr. Miguel de Benavidez, OP, third Archbishop of Manila, together with Frays Domingo de Nieva and Bernardo de Santa Catalina.
