It's easy for a spare room to become a clutter-filled mess that you always intend to tidy up but never do.

But a few quick changes can transform it into a functional and attractive space.

Luckily, Amanda Smith's spare room has lots of lovely elements, such as the chimney-breast feature wall, side Victorian sash window and great high ceilings.

And although it is also home to a number of dated wooden wardrobes, they are sturdy and provide loads of useful storage space.
