South African garden of the gods.(Namaqualand)

The world renowned photographer, Freeman Patterson, FPSA, used the descriptive name "Garden of the Gods" for one of his books (Namaqualand Garden of the Gods, Key Porter Books, Totonto, 1984). In it he recounts his chance discovery of Namaqualand, a portion of Cape Province, South Africa. In this region one has a chance to see thousands of hectares (hectare = 2.471 acres) of some of the world's most beautiful flowers.
