In this article the central concepts of the new Zapatista movement in Mexico are analyzed: dignity, politics, the government, democracy, power, autonomy, law and rights, justice, freedom, the land, community, the "dead" (history), the prophecies of the upheaval, and the "army." This is done from the point of view of a feminist theory of society that is based on the analysis of the "housewifeization" of labor, the "colonization" of life and nature, the "continuing" process of "primitive accumulation," and "patriarchy" in the capitalist world system.
