On January 30, the first day of the PVA/NWPA Billiards Tournament in Rochester, Minn., the action was hot even though frigid temperatures just above zero permeated the landscape outside the hotel.

The event taking place was a billiards tournament co-sponsored by Paralyzed Veterans of America and the National Wheelchair Pool-players Association, Inc. NWPA, the national governing body of wheelchair billiards, has helped develop billiards tournaments for people with disabilities.
