The Centers for Disease Control reports that the number of new cases of AIDS in women aged 60 and older increased from 102 to 305 between 1986 and 1996. Approximately 2,500 women in this age group have AIDS. Statistics on AIDS in African American men and white men are also presented.

The number of cases of AIDS in older women is steadily on the rise, according to recent figures released by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
