The antagonism between George II, his queen, Caroline of Ansbach (1685-1737), and their eldest son, Frederick Louis, Prince of Wales [ILLUSTRATION FOR FIGURE IV OMITTED], was bitter throughout the prince's short life. Born in Hannover, Germany, in 1707, Frederick was in England by December 1728, and died there in 1751 at the age of forty-four.
