SALEM - Less than two years after adopting tough ethics requirements for public officials and lobbyists, the Oregon Legislature is considering ways to ease up on those standards.
The lawmaker overseeing the effort said the Legislature is not watering down reforms from 2007, but fine-tuning because of unintended consequences and other problems that came to light after the law's passage.
