The diocese of Des Moines, IA, and of Lincoln, NE banned a nun and a priest from speaking in the two areas respectively, because they support the Call to Action. The bishop in Lincoln, NE had previously excommunicated members of the group charging they advocated policies contrary to Catholic teaching.

Fr. Frank Cordaro of Lacona, Iowa, was threatened with excommunication after he celebrated a Mass in Lincoln, Neb., for participants in a Call to Action conference in mid-May.
