VIRGINIA BEACH - Marie-France Vigourous Pirrone, a devout Catholic, passed away March 21, 2009, after a 2 1/2-year courageous attempt to recover from a head injury. She was born Nov. 15, 1934, in Ghardaia, Algeria, of French Army parents, Col. Maurice and Agnes Vigourous. She lived in Algeria for 19 years learning to speak French and Arabic. She and her family departed by weeklong camel caravan returning to France upon AlgeriaAEs independence in 1954.
